Horse Race
03:39
|
|||
Now is the time of frantic indecision
Clouding my vision and my poor, troubled mind
Long is the night
But I'm not prone to sleeping
Silence comes creeping
The time to run is now and now is the time
Ran to the edge of the town
Ran up a tab at the bar
Tried to play my G-run just like Del McCoury
But I lost track and ran too far
Run of the mill situation
Running behind at my job
Running out of ways to pick and sing these songs
I ran too fast now I can't stop
Don't put me in your horse race please because
I don't want to be a race horse you see

You're Up All Night
03:21
|
|||
Early in the morning without warning it can come so suddenly
Out of the bed I shake my head
Figure out who I'm gonna be
But you don’t have much to say
You're up all night, I'm up all day
Another cup of coffee is all you ever wanna see before you
In the middle of the night keep it going till dawn's light appears
But you’ve got to make it pay
You’re up all night, I’m up all day
Peace and quiet in the end sleep a while as we pretend to dream
Of the moonlight and the morning sun, and all the things we could have done today
‘cause you know that I’m on my way
You're up all night, I'm up all day

Dancing Is Free
03:23
|
|||
When you raise your eyes gaze to the skies
And spy black clouds of rain
Don't be distressed, it's all just in jest
The sun will shine again
The times in your life when your mind is full of strife
Your love and your money are spent
You can dance all alone and it won't even cost a cent
We'll play until the break of day
Until our hands grow sore
And if the fiddler's arm stays strong
We'll cry please play one more
Good times are hard to find it seems
But strings we've plenty of
We'll play until we break them all
Or the sun shines bright above
It's no surprise that in all of our lives
We feel a lot of pain
And though we must fight, to get through the night
The sun will shine again
Let the songs that we sing remind you of spring
After the winter so raw
We'll dance in the fields and watch New Brunswick thaw

A for the accidents from faulty old gear
B for the bankruptcy we all do fear
C for the cancer that eats at our bones and
D for the dollars we don’t get to take home
Chorus
How merry are we
No mortal on earth is as happy are we
Tell me hi deery ho deery hi deery down
Give the shanty boys whiskey and nothin’ goes wrong
E for the earth that we kill like a jerk
F the feller-buncher that took all the work
G for the gas that we breathe through the night and
H for the hell that we will raise right
(Chorus)
I for indigenous land that we stole
J for the jerks who made it their goal
K for the kinship we all must create
Because of L the lifeblood from us the company takes
(Chorus)
M the monopoly that closed all the mills
N for the nightshifts we all must work still
O the oligarchies our votes they do kill and
P the plutocrats who run capitol hill
(Chorus)
Q for the questions that we’re not allowed
R for our rights that are squashed in the ground
S for the sprayin’, of ethics it lacks and
T the time from our kids that we’ll never get back
(Chorus)
U for the uselessness that I feel
V for the vengeance we hope to have still
W is the wealth for someone else that we make
And now I hope you’re ready to do what it takes
Three more letters I’m too poor to rhyme
Because this industry takes all my time
For the break whistle’s blowin’ and now I must go
Farewell everybody
Half the battle
Is to know

Get Goin' On
05:36
|
|||
When I'm feeling down, concrete on the ground
Horns honking all around me, well
I dream of place, I can see outer space
Outside my home town in the country
Down a new cut road, across a river that flows,
I can't wait to get back there
To get going on, sing a song, pick a tune, all night long,
With Chris on the squeeze box till the break of day
Have a cabin party, get going and play
Well I don't give a darn, wanna bet back to the barn, have a nap in my big brass bed
Have a barbecue, shot of bourbon too
Bonfire embers are glowing red
In that ancient home, that overlooks the lake,
How long is it going to take
To get going on sing a song, pick a tune, all night long,
Stomp on the floor boards till the break of day
Have an old barn party, get going and play
Getting out of the city, no it ain't too easy,
So this is where I usually play,
In the bars, in the streets, cafés and breweries,
But it's only so long I can stay

Seasons Of Memory
04:33
|
|||
I was born in the fall,
where death found the insects and leaves
The colours filled the mountains
And the great birds flew to take their leave
CHORUS
Four times a year I feel this way,
When the earth it changes, don't know what to say
Seasons of memories, I just can't seem to change
And the cold winds have my soul to save,
And the hot sun lays me in my grave
In the winter chill, I feel still
With a warm drink in my hand
My love for the cold, might make me bold
And some of you, you just won't understand
CHORUS
Four times a year I feel this way,
When the earth it changes, don't know what to say
Seasons of memories, I just can't seem to change
And the cold winds have my soul to save,
And the hot sun lays me in my grave
In come the spring, Liam's guitar sings,
and notes fall like rain upon new ground
I plant a seed, and watch it grow,
To help me with all my trouble and my strife.
CHORUS
Four times a year I feel this way,
When the earth it changes, don't know what to say
Seasons of memories, I just can't seem to change
And the cold winds have my soul to save,
And the hot sun lays me in my grave
In the summer sun, I feel ill
I thought that some day that I might change
But the constant fear to get in gear, just gets worse in my age
CHORUS
Four times a year I feel this way,
When the earth it changes, don't know what to say
Seasons of memories, I just can't seem to change
And the cold winds have my soul to save,
And the hot sun lays me in my grave

The boys go sailing
And without fail
It always breaks my heart
Always brings me down
Till they’re back on ground
Another best friend
Is a hard working brake man
He can’t take a break until
The day’s work is done
NB southern runs
CHORUS
This song’s to thank them
For the times they lent an ear
Believed in every dream we had
Paid for the beer
This song’s to thank them
For sharing all our tears
Putting up with all the noise
And madness through the years
Born to the forest
To hunt and to harvest
He shared what he had with us
Time and time again
Love him till’ the end
To all the others
Who housed us and fed us
Drove just to see us play
We thank you now
You can stand up proud
We thank you now
You can stand up proud
We thank you now
You should stand up proud

Artificial intelligence is on the verge of a singularity, so we are told.
A singularity that would see machines outsmart its creator.
An enslavement of humanity is a possible outcome.
The A I singularity is not on its way, it has already arrived.
This singularity we fear is really the extreme wealth.
Their nano bots are taking our information, our time, our lives.
They have invented a machine to help them take more.
A machine that should have never been made.
They turned it on, it has gone critical.
We are the hydrocarbon of fear, feeding the beast.
Focus not on the A I machine.
Look at the system placed upon us.
A system of wealth accumulation.
A capital growth intelligence.
An artificial, intelligence.
(Chorus)
A I (plutocracy implied)
Life monotized (precious metals causing tears)
Wealth it has no mind (hate blinds the cogs and gears)
Google bomb their lies (until their motherboards are fried)
Extreme wealth is a form of artificial intelligence.
Being wealthy does not infer true intelligence.
Why do we allow ourselves peonage in a game played by rich people?
A game determining how we live our lives.
Criticize and scrutinize your plutocrats.
Question their version of this, and that.
The end will be what you have been coerced to believe.
If it’s hell you choose to believe, hell is how it shall be.
What gives them the right to legislate their morals?
Inflating their false intelligence.
We have been corralled in a buffalo jump of lies.
Wealth sits in the upper echelons of the government machine.
Artificially.
Spare the envy politics, envying war criminals is evil.
They should feel privileged as hell to be running the machine,
Instead of being privileged, by running the machine to hell.
(Chorus)
A I (theocracy applied)
Life monetized (confessions on deaf ears)
Wealth it has no mind (economy of fears)
Google bomb their lies (sheer the wool from your eyes)
A I (hypocrisy in strides)
Life monetized (losing all our years)
Wealth it has no mind (Where are the engineers)
Google bomb their lies (No longer sympathize)
(instrumental)
If we are to believe that A I will enslave,
If extreme wealth uses it to make more wealth, it will.
A lass, they have begun.
Billions of dollars off the data we create.
Our space, our privacy, our right to be left alone,
Filled with million dollar cookies.
They are writing constitutions.
We’re writing songs with a lilt.
They think they are winning.
But they’re just whales on stilts.
Government is like a train.
We hire people to drive and maintain it for us.
We occupy the cars that have been made for us.
If we did not exist, the train cars would be pointless and unnecessary.
We can thus be considered a vital part of the train.
We are the train, we are the government, us the people.
If they have not already been cut, we have the power to pull the breaks.
(Chorus)
A I (plutocracy implied)
Life monotized (precious metals causing tears)
Wealth it has no mind (hate blinds the cogs and gears)
Google bomb their lies. (until their motherboards are fried)
A I (theocracy applied)
Life monetized (confessions on deaf ears)
Wealth it has no mind (economy of fears)
Google bomb their lies (sheer the wool from your eyes)
A I (hypocrisy in strides)
Life monetized (losing all our years)
Wealth it has no mind (Where are the engineers)
Google bomb their lies (No longer sympathize)
VII
We are told you can exit right or left.
After all, it is the way you came in.
If you hop off the train and it pulls away,
It will follow the tracks.
And you will be free to choose any direction.
So go ahead, criticize your government, please do.
Just remember, you also criticize us,
The artificial people
We are you
